Attendance in Aveiro: Working Community Castilla y León - Center Region of Portugal

As part of the collaboration relations between the Municipality of Zamora and the Rei Afonso Henriques Foundation, the Secretary-General attended the twinning acts between the governments of both cities.
During the first day, they visited the Pedro Nunes Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center, considered a reference model for possible initiatives in Zamora, as well as sports facilities and other municipal resources.
On the second day, they visited the University of Coimbra, had a lunch between both delegations, and finally, held the solemn act of signing the Twinning Agreement between both cities. This agreement marks the beginning of the collaboration relations that are intended to be maintained in the future with the support of the Foundation.
Together, we build bridges for a future of collaboration and progress.
ATTENDANCE IN AVEIRO: WORKING COMMUNITY CASTILLA Y LEÓN - CENTER REGION OF PORTUGAL

At the invitation of the Junta de Castilla y León, the Secretary-General of the Foundation attended a working meeting where the cooperation relations between these two regions were discussed in the context of the Atlantic Corridor strategy.
Additionally, the opportunities offered by the CENCYL cities network were addressed, with the presence of mayors and municipal presidents of these cities.
The meeting was attended by the presidency of the Coordination and Development Commission of the Center Region of Portugal, the Junta de Castilla y León, as well as the Secretary of State for Local Administration of the Government of Portugal, Mr. Hernani Dias.

MEETING OF THE TRANSREGIONAL NETWORK FOR BUSINESS INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUPPORT IN CASTILLA Y LEÓN, NORTH AND CENTER OF PORTUGAL

During the 2023 edition of the Coopera Forum for Cross-Border Cooperation between Castilla y León and the North and Center regions of Portugal, the convenience of creating a network of transregional cooperation centers was identified.
With this background, this meeting was held in which participants were able to present the activities and nature of each of the entities they represented. Additionally, a work program was established to generate a project that allows entrepreneurs from this territory to undertake stays in these centers, according to their specialization.
The sessions took place over two days and the possibility of organizing a new meeting after the summer was considered, with the aim of presenting a candidacy to POCTEP.
Cross-border cooperation is the key to development and innovation.
ENCOUNTER OF YOUTH UE, EUROPE DIRECT CENTERS ZAMORA: JUNE 25, 26, AND 27

This year, the facilities in Zamora hosted the third meeting of the Europe Direct Centers of Castilla y León, as well as other European information services in our territory, as part of the project to coordinate these resources in our extensive community.
During the meeting of these centers, an encounter of young people interested in participating and learning about the resources and opportunities offered by the European construction process was held. The participants were able to enjoy lectures, workshops, and cultural and entertainment activities.
The program included a visit to Bragança, where the Portuguese headquarters of the Foundation is located. There, visits were made to the Brigantia Ecopark Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center, the historic center of the city, and the Graça Morais Contemporary Art Center.
To deepen the knowledge of the cross-border reality, a visit was organized to the Alistana town of Trabazos.
Collaborating today, we create the opportunities of tomorrow.
VISIT TO GUIMARÃES: COLLABORATION RELATIONS WITH ZAMORA
June 22 and 23, 2024
On June 22 and 23, the Foundation, represented by its Secretary-General, attended the commemoration events of the Battle of São Mamede, organized by the Grand Alfonsine Order.
This activity also involved the Center for Tourism Initiatives of Zamora and neighboring municipalities, promoting the attendance of over fifty people from this province. These attendees had the opportunity to interact with members of the Order as well as with citizens of the Portuguese city.
During the visit, an institutional meeting took place between Councillor Christoph Strieder from the City Council of Zamora and the Vice President of the City Council of Guimarães, Adelina Paula Pinto. In this meeting, opportunities for a possible twinning of the cities were discussed, in the context of activities commemorating the origin of Portugal, also involving the municipality of Coimbra.
ENCOUNTER IN BRAGANÇA: CONSERVATORIES OF MUSIC AND DANCE OF BRAGANÇA AND MUSIC OF ZAMORA
June 21 to 23 and 25 to 27, 2024
This activity, carried out in collaboration with the City Council of Zamora, the Regional Government of Castile and León, and the City Council of Bragança, aims to establish a permanent relationship between both centers. The goal is to promote mutual enrichment, exchange of experiences, and the design and implementation of future projects.
Following some previous experiences in specific performances, this year the Foundation organized a first stay in Bragança from June 21 to 23, followed by another in Zamora from June 25 to 27. The stay in Zamora concluded with a concert performed by all the students participating in the initiative.
ACTIVITY IN COLLABORATION WITH THE MUNICIPALITY OF ZAMORA. WORKING SESSION "CULTURAL LANDSCAPE OF ZAMORA AND CULTURAL LANDSCAPE OF THE INTERNATIONAL DOURO" VI IBERIAN CONGRESS OF LANDSCAPE ECOLOGY

As part of this Congress, which takes place from June 19 to 21, one of its sessions was scheduled in Zamora, at the headquarters of the Rei Afonso Henriques Foundation, on the initiative of the City Council. The Congress is organized by the Portuguese and Spanish Associations of Landscape Ecology, both members of IALE (International Association for Landscape Ecology).
ACTIVITY IN COLLABORATION WITH CEOE-CEPYME ZAMORA: V FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT FOR BUSINESS COMPETITIVENESS AND INNOVATION IN CASTILE AND LEON

In response to a collaboration request from the Secretary-General of CEOE-CEPYME ZAMORA, FRAH organized a meeting with the participation of businesspeople and institutional representatives. During the meeting, topics related to the framework agreement were addressed, focusing on key aspects of business internationalization.

The activity began with a visit to the Portuguese headquarters of the Foundation, followed by a guided tour of the city's historic center, a lunch, a visit to the Contemporary Art Center, the George Dussaud Photography Center, and other activities showcasing artistic and cultural resources.
VISIT TO THE FOUNDATION BUILDING, THE FORMER SAN FRANCISCO EXTRAPONTEM CONVENT AS A BIC BUILDING

In accordance with the aim of facilitating visits to the building for both Zamora residents and those who may visit the city, the activity was publicized on social media, with more than thirty people signing up.
The visit was conducted in collaboration with Zamora architect Alberto Alonso Crespo, who provided an interpretive tour of the site, with references to the uses of the different spaces and rooms of the facility.
The activity is free of charge.
VISIT OF STUDENTS FROM THE SCHOOL OF ARTS AND CRAFTS OF ZAMORA TO BRAGANÇA

ASSISTANCE TO THE PRESENTATION EVENTS OF THE GREAT ROUTE OF MILLS AND MEADOWS

This is an initiative promoted by the Pedralba de la Pradería Town Council and the Union of Parishes of Aveleda and Rio de Onor of the Bragança City Council. With this Route, it is intended to transform this border area into a 67-kilometer tourist resource that would connect three villages on the Spanish side and four on the Portuguese side.
At this presentation event, the objectives of the project were presented, with the attendance of representatives from the Junta de Castilla y León, the Portuguese Embassy in Spain, the Diputación de Zamora, and other stakeholders, including the Foundation itself.
After attending the presentation of the initiative and part of the route, participants joined in a lunch featuring local products.
FINAL PRESS CONFERENCE FOR THE ACTIVITY WITH IBERDROLA

After the completion of this activity, titled "Without Time," in which ten educational centers from the province of Zamora and more than three hundred students participated, a presentation to the media was organized with the award ceremony for the two finalist centers.
This was an activity promoted and sponsored by IBERDROLA, developed in collaboration with the Junta de Castilla y León through its Provincial Directorate of Education.
It is an activity framed within the references of the European Green Deal and sustainable development strategies, as well as the promoting company's own environmental awareness.

On this occasion, as part of the activities of the Europe Direct Centre in Zamora, the Centre's manager and Secretary-General of the Foundation gave a talk on European topics. The presentation was based on the publication Let's Explore Europe, covering its four EU themes: United in Diversity; In Your Daily Life; A Journey Through Time, and How It Works.

Following activities carried out in collaboration with this school located in Zamora, visits from two groups of secondary school students were organized. The Secretary-General of the Foundation, who is also the Head of the Europe Direct Centre in Zamora, visited the Foundation's headquarters in Zamora. He presented the contents of the publication Let's Explore Europe, covering its four EU themes: United in Diversity; In Your Daily Life; A Journey Through Time, and How It Works.
